Donald Trump spent more than 20 years in the Atlantic City casino business, employing 1000s of local residents and generating millions in tax revenue for the state. Dating back to the early 1980s when he first entered the resort industry, Trump owned and operated three casinos on the Boardwalk in that which was then considered the gambling mecca of the East Coast.

Fast-forward to 2016, and the Republican frontrunner for the presidential general election has become dealing with backlash, maybe not only for the ultimate fate of their Atlantic City casinos, but also for just what role he possibly played in the area’s current and ongoing downturn.
A former 2016 GOP candidate who has since endorsed Trump, defended the billionaire on Tuesday, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
‘He is a honorable individual, and I don’t believe he’s ever been an office-holder in Atlantic City,’ Christie told reporters. ‘ I do not remember Donald mayor that is being’ he included, an apparent dig at current AC Mayor Don Guardian, for whom the Governor has no love lost.

This week’s casino news starts with revenue numbers from the continuing state of Maryland. Gambling is alive and well into the Old Line State as they simply produced their fourth-best month ever.
The casino industry within the Terrapin state is absolutely thriving. The latest report shows that Maryland casinos delivered record numbers in the month of August.
This week, income numbers were released and Maryland’s casinos registered its fourth-best month-to-month video gaming income numbers ever. According to a present report, the state’s six casinos reported their gaming income numbers at $154.3 million for the month of August, which is up 5.4% from that time this past year. While Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino struggled to catch on the trend, the other five casinos absolutely thrived including the MGM nationwide Harbor, which accounted for a ridiculous 40% associated with the state’s total gaming revenue numbers. A year ago in fact, the MGM National Harbor took in real-money-casino.club a total of $62.4 million, which is an increase of 7% from the same time.
